About Us

Scionics was established in 1988.   It was created as a vehicle for practical application of existing and new ideas on business analysis and system development methodology to provide business benefit.  Although structured methods still form a foundation for application of Scionics’ expertise, the emphasis has increasingly been placed on the business oriented aspects of IS/IT exploitation within a framework of Knowledge Management.

Committed to our clients:

Scionics is committed to enabling clients to maximise the intrinsic value of their data (expressed as information and knowledge).  It achieves this aim via its understanding of the structure of knowledge and by working closely with clients to ensure mutual awareness and knowledge transfer.

It is Scionics’ belief that information systems and technology should be exploited to serve the business and its people.  Thus, although attractive new technologies may potentially bring radical business change, the emphasis should always be placed on a sound business case.  Strategy and process are fundamental to the business case for exploitation of corporate data (as information and knowledge) and successful exploitation will not happen without the right people, organisation and culture.

Every day, you are surrounded by opportunities to "make it happen" for your business.  How often are you constrained by budget, resource and know how?  Scionics is structured to provide the highest level of expertise at rates that will not blow the budget before significant benefit is delivered.  We can help you make it happen.

Company structure:

The Scionics’ company structure has been established to be extremely flexible and cost effective in meeting client needs:

·      A small management team holds core competencies and provides overall company co-ordination.  The team both undertakes and manages client assignments.  Where they are not directly undertaking the work they communicate with the client and the assigned resource to ensure the quality of results.

·      Scionics' assignments may be undertaken by Independent Affiliates who bring their individual expertise and experience to bear.  These are qualified and self motivated people who work closely with clients to achieve first class solutions.

·      In appropriate circumstances Associate Companies can be introduced to clients to fulfil needs where specific products and services are required.  These companies tend to be smaller, independent businesses that have extremely innovative and focused offerings in methods, software and people development solutions.

This structure enables Scionics to contain and control overheads while still providing an excellent level and range of support to clients.  The net result is that clients receive a value for money and quality of service that the larger consultant companies would find impossible to offer.
